Meet the Team

When you attend a MelodyTimes concert, you will meet lots of nice people, many of whom will be very willing helpers,

perhaps setting out or clearing the chairs, taking ticket money on the door, helping run a raffle or serving interval

refreshments.

The concerts are actually organised by

Michael Wooldridge Well known in the world of keyboards and organs, Michael started his career by winning the UK Young Theatre Organist of the Year Competition in 1980, when he was just 15 years old. He went on to work for top instrument manufacturers Yamaha UK, Hammond UK and Wersi UK, and to tour the world performing, before diversifying to become a fully pledged show producer, staging theatre tours, pantomimes and summer seasons throughout the UK. He now publishes the UK’s leading keyboard, organ and digital piano magazine, the Organ & Keyboard Cavalcade, along with arranging the associated Hobby Holidays that have been so popular since their inception in the 1980s. Chris Stanbury One of the UK’s most sought after players, Chris is now a fully fledged Doctor of Music and has been involved with writing music exams, as well as travelling the globe as an examiner. Alongside this, he is very actively involved with Casio UK, playing and marketing their popular digital pianos and keyboards, as well as running dealer training seminars. Richard Moore Richard started playing semi-professionally when still at school, playing in dance bands and as a solo organist. he then ran his own music shop in Hastings for some years before deciding to take a change in life and taking on a proper job! Was the driving force behind the refurbishment of the Rye Wurlitzer and, alongside a huge amount of charitable work over the years, is the inspiration, founder and chairman of the Rye Wurlitzer Academy, the world’s only institution providing school children with regular lessons on a Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ, plus electronic organs for their home practise and music, all completely free. Sue Scott Sue, along with her late husband, the band leader, TV Musical Director and organist John Scott, was for many, many years been at the heart of the Regis Organ and Keyboard Club and, whilst no longer feeling able to run the events there herself, is still very much a part of the team and very thrilled to still be able to welcome friends and new friends in music to our Bognor Regis events. Sue is, herself, a very fine player and, over the years, has played the piano in the orchestra pit to accompany many musicals staged by local amateur theatrical companies.
